The service

CommonPlateGiving provides church-management tools for public church pages, administrator authentication, giving, people and household records, attendance, volunteer scheduling, and kids check-in. Churches currently receive access without a monthly subscription fee.

We may improve, correct, change, or discontinue features over time.

Authorized use

A person who creates or manages a church account represents that the church has authorized them to do so. Administrators must be adults. Churches are responsible for deciding who may administer the account, protecting access, and removing access when it is no longer needed.

Church responsibilities

  • Provide accurate church, administrator, and connected-account information.
  • Use appropriate permissions and control administrator access.
  • Obtain appropriate authority before entering personal, household, volunteer, child, guardian, or giving information.
  • Keep public-page, giving-purpose, refund, and contact information accurate.

Stripe and online payments

Stripe provides online payment processing and connected-account services. Each church owns and manages its connected Stripe account and has access to the full Stripe Dashboard. Stripe collects the church’s identity, tax, representative, and banking information. Stripe is configured to collect account requirements and bear the connected account’s payment losses and negative-balance responsibility. CommonPlateGiving does not collect or store church banking credentials.

Donations are created as direct charges in the church’s connected-account context, and donation proceeds remain in the church account. The church pays Stripe’s processing fees. CommonPlateGiving receives the disclosed 1% platform fee. Donors may optionally choose to cover estimated processing and platform fees. CommonPlateGiving does not hold the church’s donation principal.

A church must also agree to the applicable Stripe Connected Account Agreement and Stripe Services Agreement.

Refunds and disputes

Refunds and disputes are handled through Stripe and the connected church account. Each church is responsible for its refund practices and donor communications. CommonPlateGiving may assist with platform records and technical support, but does not promise that Stripe processing fees will be returned.

Church content and data

The church retains ownership of information and content it enters. The church gives CommonPlateGiving the limited permission needed to host, process, display, and protect that information to operate the service. Information a church selects for its public page becomes publicly visible. Private records remain restricted by the application’s access controls.

Prohibited use

  • Illegal, fraudulent, or misleading donation activity.
  • Unauthorized access or attempts to disrupt the service.
  • Harassment, threats, abuse, hateful content, malware, or malicious links.
  • Uploading information without appropriate authority.
  • Publicly exposing confidential member, guardian, or child information.

Availability and changes

The service may occasionally be unavailable. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, and features may be improved, corrected, or discontinued.

Suspension and closure

CommonPlateGiving may restrict accounts used unlawfully or unsafely. A church may request account closure and an available data export through the documented support process. Payment obligations, disputes, audit records, or other required records may survive closure.
